This option is not available to individuals within NYC. Form I-9s must be completed within 3 business days of the start date, so please plan the timing of your request and the start date of the new hire accordingly. These instructions will be sent to the departmental requestor, not the individual new hire. To request use of I-9 Anywhere, please allow at least 48 hours to receive instructions. Please note that if the new hire cancels within 24 hours, or no-shows, the fee is still charged by the vendor and will be billed to your department. CUHR will invoice your department monthly based on usage.
The cost for this service is $65 per transaction. This service allows a new hire to go in person to an I-9 Anywhere completer center, located throughout the country. I-9 Anywhere is a service available to departments when a new hire will not be in New York within 3 business days of their start date. If you will be working remotely for Columbia University, or are going to be remote at the time of your hire/appointment, please reach out to your hiring department for guidance on how to use the I-9 Anywhere service. If your hiring department is one of these locations, they will let you know. Some schools/departments choose to process I-9s directly. If you are a new hire or a rehire and will be working in the New York City area, whether on one of the University campuses or remotely, your I-9 must be completed in person at one of the University's I-9 centers.
